CYLINDER REBLADING
We offer cylinder reblading and rebalancing for fleshing and shaving machines
REBLADING
The quality of the maintenance, reblading, and grinding of spiral blades will all have a profound effect on the quality of the shave finish and the yield achieved by shaving and fleshing machines within tanneries. For this reason, the process of deblading and reblading should always be undertaken by qualified individuals with proven experience and the correct tools to get a consistent shave across the full length of the cylinder.
We offer a cylinder reblading and rebalancing service for fleshing and shaving machines performed by highly trained and skilled professional, Matthew Harris. Matthew trained in 2010 and has been reblading cyclinders for 12 years and Beamhouse itself has been reblading for 18 years. Matthew is one of the only people in the UK to be fully trained and able to offer this service.
We understand that every hide is valuable and that processing must not cause any damage. For these reasons we utilise only the best quality tools and parts when reblading your cyclinder.
We use the latest reblading machine with electronic balancing to install the blades. This machine provides consistent speed and pressure throughout the reblading process and the benefit of electronic balancing reduces vibration. In our opinion machinery assisted re-blading generally produces the best results, particularly when combined with machine grinding and cylinder balancing.
Beamhouse uses only the best-quality premium steel spiral blades when reblading.

THE CYCLINDER REBLADING PROCESS
- When your cylinder arrives it is inspected
- We then start the process by de-blading the current cylinder, taking extra care not to damage the grooves of the blade.
- Next comes preparing the cylinder for the new blade by removing any debris, rust or caulk.
- Once the cylinder has been fully prepared, we can then perform the re-blade using our reblading machine with electronic balancing to install the blades. This machine provides consistent speed and pressure throughout the reblading process.
- The cylinder is then inspected before being shipped back to you.
